Thiacloprid is an agonist at the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor. Consequently, there is no cross-resistance to insecticides from the pyrethroid, organophosphate or carbamate families and thus thaicloprid can be recommended for inclusion in insect resistance mangement strategies. Although similar in structure to imidacloprid, thiacloprid is reported to bring significant advantanges.

Thiacloprid  Use
Mode of Action	1. It's a kind of Is a new chlorinated insecticides and has a strong absorption, contact and stomach action.    2. It's efficient pharmaceutical to control sucking and chewing mouthparts .
Application	★ Thiacloprid, a new chloronicotinyl insecticide, is targeted to control sucking and biting insects in cotton, rice, vegetables, pome fruit, sugar beet, potatoes and ornamentals. ★ Pests controlled include aphids, whiteflies, beetles (e.g. Leptinotarsa decemlineata, Anthonomus pomorum, Lissorhoptrus oryzophilus) and Lepidoptera such as leaf miners and Cydia pomonella. ★ According to different crops, pests and different ways of use, the recommended dosage is 48-180g active ingredient/hm2 for foliar application, and 20~60g active ingredient/hm2 also is recommended.
