Gibberellic acid is a plant growth regulator, mainly used to promote the growth and development of crops, early maturity, increase yield and break the dormancy of seeds, tubers, bulbs and other organs, promote germination, tillering, and bolting, and increase fruit set rate. It is particularly effective in solving the sterility during the flowering period of hybrid rice seed production. It is widely used in cotton, grapes, potatoes, fruits and vegetables. Gibberellic acid GA3 is currently the most widely used plant growth regulator in agriculture, forestry and horticulture in my country. The physiological effects of gibberellin GA3 mainly include: changing the ratio of female and male flowers in certain crops, inducing parthenocarpy, accelerating fruit growth, and promoting fruit setting; breaking seed dormancy, early seed germination, accelerating stem elongation and bolting of some crops; expanding leaf area, accelerating the growth of young branches, facilitating the accumulation of metabolites in the phloem, and activating the cambium; inhibiting maturity and senescence, controlling the dormancy of lateral buds and the formation of tubers.
Usage
1. Promote fruit setting or seedless fruit formation. Spray cucumber flowers with 50-100mg/kg solution once during flowering to promote fruit setting and increase yield. 7-10 days after grape flowering, spray rose grapes with 200-500mg/kg solution once to promote seedless fruit formation.
2. Promote vegetative growth. Spray celery leaves with 50-100mg/kg solution once 2 weeks before harvest; spray spinach leaves 1-2 times 3 weeks before harvest to increase stem and leaf size.
3. Break dormancy and promote germination. Soak tubers with 0.5-1mg/kg solution for 30 minutes before sowing potatoes; soak seeds with 1mg/kg solution before sowing barley, both can promote germination.
4. Delaying aging and preserving effect: Soak the base of garlic sprouts with 50mg/kg solution for 10-30min, spray citrus fruits with 5-15mg/kg solution once during the green fruit stage, soak banana fruits with 10mg/kg solution after harvest, and spray cucumbers and watermelons with 10-50mg/kg solution before harvesting, which can all play a role in preserving.
5. Regulating flowering: Spraying leaves with 1000mg/kg solution during the vernalization stage of chrysanthemums, and spraying buds with 1-5mg/kg solution during the bud stage of cyclamen can promote flowering.
6. Improving the fruiting rate of hybrid rice seed production: Generally, it starts when 15% of the mother parent is heading, and sprays 25-55mg/kg solution 1-3 times until 25% of the heading is completed. Use low concentration first, then high concentration
