Indoxacarb has a unique mechanism of action. It exerts its insecticidal activity through contact and stomach poisoning. After insects come into contact and feed on it, it enters their bodies. The insects stop feeding within 3 to 4 hours, become disordered in their movements, and become paralyzed. They generally die within 24 to 60 hours after taking the medicine. Indoxacarb is not easily decomposed even when exposed to strong ultraviolet light, and remains effective at high temperatures. It is resistant to rain erosion and can be strongly adsorbed on the leaf surface. Indoxacarb has no systemic effect, but has strong permeability (similar to avermectin). Since indoxacarb is insoluble in water, highly effective, low in toxicity, and has no chronic toxicity, in addition to controlling lepidopteran pests, it can also be made into gels and baits for controlling sanitary pests such as cockroaches, fire ants, and ants.

Indoxacarb is suitable for controlling various pests such as beet armyworm, diamondback moth, rapae looper, cutworm, cabbage armyworm, cotton bollworm, tobacco budworm, leaf roller, codling moth, leaf moth, diamondback moth, potato beetle, etc. on crops such as cabbage, cauliflower, kale, tomato, pepper, cucumber, courgette, eggplant, lettuce, apple, pear, peach, apricot, cotton, potato, grape, etc.
