Product Descirption:
Trans-zeatin is an endogenous plant growth regulator belonging to the purine plant cytokinin. It was originally discovered and isolated from young corn cobs and has multiple biological functions. Trans-zeatin has a chemical formula of C10H13N5O. It is a white to yellow powder (crystal) that is insoluble in water but soluble in solvents such as 1M acetic acid, 1M NaOH, alcohol and DMF. Trans-zeatin has two isomers, cis and trans. The trans isomer (trans-zeatin) has stronger biological activity than the cis isomer.
APPLICATION:
The main functions include:
1. Promoting cell division and callus germination: Trans-zeatin can promote cell division and help callus germination. In agricultural applications, it is usually used in combination with auxin at a concentration of 1ppm.
2. Promoting fruit setting: In terms of promoting fruit formation, trans-zeatin is more effective when used in combination with other plant growth regulators such as gibberellins and naphthylacetic acid. For example, spraying fruits with 100ppm zeatin, 500ppm gibberellin and 20ppm naphthaleneacetic acid 10, 25 and 40 days after flowering can effectively promote fruit setting.
3. Delaying yellowing of leaves: On leafy crops, spraying with 20ppm trans-zeatin can delay yellowing of leaves and keep the leaves green and vigorous.
4. Promoting seed germination and seedling growth: Treating some crop seeds can promote germination, while treating them at the seedling stage can promote growth.
5. Preventing leaf aging and reversing toxin damage: High concentrations of trans-zeatin can also prevent leaf aging, reverse toxin damage to the buds, and inhibit excessive root formation.
