γ-cyclodextrin has a larger cavity than b-cyclodextrin, so the cavity can contain a wider range of guest molecules; better water solubility, at room temperature 25ºC, the solubility of γ-cyclodextrin is 25.6g/100ml, while the solubility of α-cyclodextrin is 12.7g/100ml water, and the solubility of b-cyclodextrin is only 1.88g/100ml water. The application prospect is broader than that of b-cyclodextrin, but the current production scale is small, so the price is high, which limits the promotion of application.
