Indole-3-butyric Acid Potassium Salt (IBAK) is a plant growth regulator that promotes root formation. It induces the formation of adventitious roots in crops; when applied via methods such as foliar spraying or root dipping, it is absorbed into the plant body through parts such as leaves and seeds, subsequently concentrating at the growth points to stimulate cell division and induce adventitious root formation. This results in a robust root system characterized by an abundance of roots that are straight, thick, and rich in root hairs. It is readily soluble in water and exhibits higher biological activity than indole-3-acetic acid. While it undergoes slow decomposition under strong light, its molecular structure remains stable when stored in shaded conditions.
